 To prepare your skin for microneedling and reduce the risk of irritation or complications:

One Week Before Treatment
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds
Discontinue use of retinoids, retinol, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and other active ingredients
Do not wax, shave aggressively, or use depilatory creams on the treatment area
Avoid chemical peels or laser treatments in the area
Avoid blood-thinning medications or supplements unless medically necessary (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E)

Three Days Before
Stay hydrated and maintain your normal skincare routine with gentle, non-active products
Let us know if you’ve had any recent illness, dental work, or changes in medication

Day of Treatment
Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin
Do not apply moisturizer, SPF, or makeup to the area
If you have a history of cold sores, an antiviral medication may be prescribed to take beforehand
Eat a light meal before your appointment and avoid caffeine if you’re sensitive

First 24 Hours
Your skin will appear red and feel tight, warm, or sunburned. This is normal.
Do not touch, rub, or wash your face for at least 8 hours
Avoid makeup, skincare products, or sunscreen unless specifically recommended
Apply only the post-care serum or product provided by your provider
Avoid exercise, sweating, hot showers, saunas, or steam

After 24 Hours
You may gently cleanse the skin using a non-active, fragrance-free cleanser
Continue using the hydrating serum or post-care product as directed
Avoid makeup, exfoliants, retinol, acids, or vitamin C for 3 to 5 days
Redness may persist for 1 to 3 days depending on skin sensitivity

Days 3 to 7
Your skin may begin to flake or feel dry
Do not pick, scratch, or exfoliate
Hydrate with a gentle moisturizer and continue to use SPF 30 or higher
Avoid sun exposure, aggressive skincare, and facial treatments during this time

Expected Results
Initial results such as smoother, glowing skin may be visible within a week
Full results including improved texture, tone, and collagen production develop over 4 to 6 weeks
For best results, a series of 3 to 6 sessions is recommended, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart

• Use zinc-based SPF and wide-brim hat outdoors.
   
• Expect redness/discomfort for up to 24 hours.
   
• Use Tylenol if needed; avoid NSAIDs for 1 week.
   
• Cold compresses okay up to 4x/day.
   
• Micro-scabs may form 24–72 hours later—do not pick.
