Before the Treatment:

• Disclose any healing disorders, infections, herpes history, or skin conditions.
   
• Do not proceed if pregnant, breastfeeding, or using Accutane in the past 12 months.
   
• Disclose allergies to medications.
   

Before Follow-Up Treatments:

• Disclose new medications.
   
• Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for 4 weeks.
   
• Use SPF 30+ sunscreen daily.

• Discomfort is minimal and should feel like a sunburn for approximately 1–2 hours post-treatment. Cool compresses may be used if necessary.
   
• Tylenol may be used for discomfort. Avoid anti-inflammatory medications.
   
• Swelling is normal; sleep with your head elevated for 2 days post-treatment.
   
• Sleep on your back with a clean pillowcase.
   
• Clean skin with a mild, gentle cleanser such as Cetaphil or CeraVe, or one provided by your treatment provider. Gently pat dry with a clean, soft washcloth twice daily.
   
• Reapply occlusive ointment or other moisturizers provided by your treatment provider to keep skin moist until re-epithelialization occurs (usually day 3–5).
   
  • After that, apply a gentle moisturizer 2–3 times daily to prevent dryness and begin using sunscreen.
     
• Do not apply any other skincare products unless instructed by your provider.
   
• Do not scratch or pick at the healing skin.
   
• Avoid direct sun exposure for the next 4 weeks (ideally up to 6 months for best results). Skin will be more sensitive during this time.
   
  • Use a Zinc or Titanium Dioxide-based sunscreen.
     
  • Wear a 4-inch brimmed hat and sunglasses when outside.
     
• Drink at least 64 oz of water daily.
   
• Use any prescribed post-treatment skincare products or medications as directed by your provider.
   
• You may resume makeup once skin has healed, typically between 5–7 days.
   
• Darker skin tones are more prone to hyperpigmentation. Notify your provider immediately if you notice any darkening of the skin.
   
• Contact your provider if you experience any signs of blistering or infection.
